History of the Anderson County Volunteer Fire System

PURPOSE OF HISTORY: To inform the citizens of Anderson County of the growth and value of their tax dollars as it applies to the Anderson County Fire System and to help them realize the Contribution made by a special group of people, the

ORIGINATION OF ORGANIZATION: The ANDERSON COUNTY FIRE SYSTEM was
initiated as a Farm Bureau Project in 1961. State Legislation creating and governing the Fire
System was placed in the Code of Laws in 1961.

STATEMENT OF MISSION: To continuously strive to provide our Firefighters with the safest
and best equipment and training available to enable them to provide the best possible fire service
for Anderson County and seek to obtain the maximum value of each dollar paid by Anderson
County Taxpayers.

As of 2001, the last audit showed the ANDERSON COUNTY FIRE SYSTEM
